Joe is the co-founder of Daily Grind, growing the company from a small market stall to a £2m+ turnover company. Joe trained and worked for a number of years as a structural engineer, working for large companies including Halliburton on oil rig design and training engineers and draftspeople in the IT systems used to design rigs. After working in IT for a City-based private US bank, he left to follow his passion for coffee by founding Daily Grind.
Anne is the other founding director, and has a career that has including working for companies such as Walt Disney and Accenture as well as the CBI. As a senior policy advisor at the CBI, she advised companies on how to follow best business practice to grow their business.
Mike worked in hospitality for 16 years. He began his management career with Fullers Brewery 12 years ago. After finishing his degree in Photography he went off to Australia and developed a love of coffee. When he came back, after deciding Photography and the pub work were best kept as a hobby he decided to venture into the world of Coffee again. He began working for Fernandez and Wells on Beak St. as a Barista but a fondeness of Wine and Jamon plus coffee led him to run 3 of their sites for just over 3 years. Fancying a change and something more focused on speciality coffee he jumped at the chance to work for Alchemy.
Phil is a food scientist & UKBC sensory judge with several years of roasting specialty coffee under his belt. He has spent over 10 years working in the coffee industry in areas of quality assurance, marketing, purchasing and production.
